Oyakodon Recipe -The Delicious Japanese Dish Made with Chicken and Rice

 Oyakodon is a Japanese dish made with chicken and rice, served in a bowl. This comforting dish combines the savory flavors of chicken and rice, with a hint of sweetness from the soy sauce and mirin. To make oyakodon, you'll need dashi broth, steamed Japanese rice, diced chicken, and green onions. Simply combine the ingredients in a skillet and let them cook together until everything is heated through and the rice is cooked. A recipe for oyakodon:

Ingredients:

    2 large eggs

    2 cups of dashi broth (or chicken or fish broth)

    1 slice of chicken breast, diced

    1 slice of rice cooked in dashi broth

    1/2 cup of steamed Japanese short-grain rice

    1 tbsp of vegetable oil

    1 tbsp of soy sauce

    1 tbsp of sake

    1 tbsp of mirin

    1 tsp of grated ginger

    1 tsp of sugar

    2 green onions, thinly sliced

Directions:

 1-   In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, soy sauce, sake, mirin, grated ginger, and sugar until well combined.

 2-  Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

 3-   Add the steamed rice and dashi broth to the skillet with the chicken and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the chicken is fully cooked through.

 4-   Add the sliced green onions to the skillet and stir to combine.

 5-   Divide the oyakodon mixture into 4 portions and serve hot.
