Easy Cinnamon Roll Recipe 🍥🥐

These Easy Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy, and bursting with warm cinnamon flavor. With a simple dough and a luscious cinnamon sugar filling, they're a delightful treat for breakfast or a special indulgence any time of the day!

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar 🍚
  • 1 tsp salt 🧂
  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast 🧂
  • 1/2 cup warm milk 🥛
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 🧈
  • 1/4 cup warm water 💧
  • 1 large egg 🥚

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar 🍚
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon 🍃

For the cream cheese frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened 🧀
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
  • 1 cup powdered sugar 🍚
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 🌿

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the warm milk, melted butter, warm water, and egg.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle.
  7. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the buttered dough.
  9. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  10. Cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls.
  11. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
  12. Cover the baking dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  13. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  14. Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  15. While the rolls are baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  16. Once the cinnamon rolls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  17. Drizzle the cream cheese frosting generously over the warm cinnamon rolls.

Presentation:

Serve the Easy Cinnamon Rolls on a platter or individual plates. They can be served warm or at room temperature. Consider dusting a little extra powdered sugar or sprinkling some cinnamon on top of the rolls for a beautiful finishing touch.
