Easy Cinnamon Roll Recipe 🍥🥐
These Easy Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy, and bursting with warm cinnamon flavor. With a simple dough and a luscious cinnamon sugar filling, they're a delightful treat for breakfast or a special indulgence any time of the day!
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar 🍚
- 1 tsp salt 🧂
- 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast 🧂
- 1/2 cup warm milk 🥛
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 🧈
- 1/4 cup warm water 💧
- 1 large egg 🥚
For the filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
- 3/4 cup brown sugar 🍚
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon 🍃
For the cream cheese frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened 🧀
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
- 1 cup powdered sugar 🍚
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 🌿
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the warm milk, melted butter, warm water, and egg.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle.
- Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the buttered dough.
- Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
- Cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
- Cover the baking dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Once the cinnamon rolls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Drizzle the cream cheese frosting generously over the warm cinnamon rolls.
Presentation:
Serve the Easy Cinnamon Rolls on a platter or individual plates. They can be served warm or at room temperature. Consider dusting a little extra powdered sugar or sprinkling some cinnamon on top of the rolls for a beautiful finishing touch.
